Harpers on the Beach is new boutique style accommodation consisting of three luxuriously appointed queen ensuite rooms. The rooms are beautifully decorated with imported fabrics and furniture. Each room has a large private deck with views of the ocean. Step off your deck and it is a mere twenty five paces to the generally deserted three kilometre white sand beach.
This wild, unspoiled and virtually secret crescent shaped beach has been named as one of the most beautiful in Australia. Facing west you will experience stunning sunsets over Storm Bay with views all the way to Bruny Island and the South West wilderness area and the Hartz Mountains. Dinner is served by arrangement and when possible is always based around local and organic produce. Either from our own organic gardens or Storm Bay where we catch salmon, flathead, trumpeter and the world famous Rock Lobster (crayfish). Tasmania is renowned for its high quality fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and cheeses. Wine and beer are served and the wine selection predominantly features award winning cool climate Tasmanian wines. Either from our own organic gardens or Storm Bay where we catch salmon, flathead, trumpeter and the world famous Rock Lobster (crayfish). Tasmania is renowned for its high quality fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and cheeses. Wine and beer are served and the wine selection predominantly features award winning cool climate Tasmanian wines. There is nothing quite like homemade cooking. Especially when the chef is also the owner of the establishment! Jill has even cooked for the current premier of Tasmania and constantly for Jonathan, a food critic of the highest caliber. Dinner is a set three course menu, with the menu changing daily. Cost: $45 per person. Just let us know by 12 noon on the day if you would like to have dinner that evening.

Harpers on the Beach is situated on the southern tip of the Tasman Peninsula, just over one hour from Hobart International Airport and ten minutes from historic Port Arthur. Besides being famous for its historic sights the Tasman Peninsula is famous for its unspoilt natural beauty. Described as ‘a world of its own’ and the ‘the undiscovered part of Tasmania’, the peninsula has many activities that are all close to Storm Bay.

From Hobart/Hobart International Airport
Take the A3 from Hobart or the airport to Sorell. At Sorell, take the A9 towards Port Arthur to Taranna. Just past Taranna, turn right onto the B37 towards Nubeena. At Nubeena, continue on the B37 for approximately 2km and turn right onto White Beach Road. Harpers Place is approx 2km from the start of White Beach Rd, the second turning on the right after the caravan park. We are at the fenced property end of Harpers Place. From Port Arthur On leaving the Port Arthur site, turn left towards Nubeena. White Beach is approximately 10km from Port Arthur. Turn left onto White Beach Road.
