Collins Cap Cottage is a self-contained rural cottage accommodating up to eight, located at “Loculus”, 29 Funslow Road, Collinsvale, near Collins Cap. Conveniently located for accessing all of Southern Tasmania, it is less than 30 minutes drive from Hobart waterfront, 20 minutes from Glenorchy and 15 from the new Museum of Old and New Art at Moorilla. Collins Cap Cottage is an ideal venue for that romantic get-away for a couple or mini-adventure for a family. Collins Cap Cottage offers one large double bedroom with a queen sized bed, television and DVD player and internet access. There are two bunk rooms each with beds for two people and a futon lounge which can be converted to a double bed. The kitchen area has microwave oven, hotplates, toaster, jug and refrigerator with cooking and eating facilities. The bathroom has shower over the bath and there is a separate toilet. We provide a continental breakfast on the first morning. The rural setting of Collins Cap Cottage allows the visitor to experience the tranquillity of the Tasmanian bush and perhaps encounter some of our native animals. There are pleasant bushwalks on the property and at nearby Myrtle Forest and Collins Cap. Associated with the cottage is Collins Cap Ceramics studio/gallery displaying art, ceramics, glassworks, photography and huon pine furniture. Collins Cap Ceramics has been operating as a ceramics business since August 2000. The cottage was built 25 years ago, has 4 steps leading up into it so is not wheelchair accessible. The gallery is on ground level and so is wheelchair accessible to both levels although it has internal steps. The cottage is within a large enclosed yard and has children’s play facilities close by.
