Don and Leanne welcome you to Donalea Bed and Breakfast and Riverview Apartment which we established in August 2003 and where we continue to enjoy the company of people from all over Australia and the world.
Just imagine, lovely English style gardens, abundant bird life with beautiful views of the Huon River and beyond. That's just on the outside. This grand old 1920's home has been lovingly restored and provides modern facilities whilst retaining features of a bygone era.
Located just 40 minutes south of Hobart, we are central to many of the region's attractions and a wonderful base for your Huon Valley Accommodation.
Both bed and breakfast and self-contained accommodation options are offered, with two ensuite B&B rooms and a self catering two bedroom apartment. The choice is yours. All accommodation has private entrances and there are no shared areas with the hosts. In the B&B you have your own spacious, guest lounge with logfire, TV/DVD/Video, with a complimentary movie library and a separate dining room.
Pamper yourself in either our Spa Suite or Waterview suite. Both rooms are spacious with large ensuites. A sumptuous breakfast is served in the morning, including home made breads, pikelets, muffins, jams and fresh fruits, with orange juice, plunger coffee and tea.
The two bedroom Riverview Apartment is ideal for group bookings and longer stays, with basic cooking facilities, washing machine and private washing line. The apartment has a large bathroom with the bonus of a separate shower and deep bath to soak in. Breakfast provisions are provided for the first morning of your stay.
Garden lovers are also in for a treat, with over an acre of cottage gardens, plants, natives, advanced trees and orchard. Roses, azaleas, camellias and rhododendrons are in abundance, with a lovely three metre pittosporum hedge framing the well lit, off road carpark.
Donalea really is a private country retreat, a garden lovers delight and a perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy all the Huon Valley has to offer.

Location:
When in Hobart, take the A6 highway past the waterfront and look for the sign that says Huonville or Huon Valley (25 mins from Hobart). Once in Huonville, keep following the main road for approx 15 minutes and you will reach Franklin. Keep following the main road through Franklin and about 5 minutes further on, you will arrive in our town called Castle Forbes Bay. Look for the sign that says "Donalea B&B 100 Metres" and "Donalea Next Right". Turn right into Crowthers Road and our carpark is 100 metres up on the left. Safe Travels
