The Stanley Nut
Our famous landmark. Take the chairlift or 15 minutes walk to the top. Walk around the top (approx 45 min's) and take in spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, beaches and waters.

Tarkine Wilderness Spend the day touring along the "South Arthur Forest Drive" and explore wild coastline and ancient rain rainforest.

Dip Falls Take the short walk to the bottom, and then across the bridge at the top to another vantage point.You can then drive a little further up the road for a short walk through the rain forest, to see one of Tasmania's many "big trees".

Historic Colonial fishing Village Stanley was first colonised by the English in the 1880's. It still maintains many of the Inns, churches and homesteads from that era. It has been and still is one of Tasmania's main fishing ports.

Historic Highfield House (circa 1835) This grand Georgian homestead was built to house the director of the Van Diemens land company, and is now open to the public.

Scenic Flights Chose from a helicopter or an aeroplane to get a bird's eye view of our magnificent corner of the world.

Water Wheel Creek Timber Heritage Experience features a working bush tram way, and guided interpretive tour of the rain forest, demonstrating the way the early pioneers worked in our bush.

Getting There:

After passing the 60 km/h sign at the entrance to the town, take your first turn to the left, which is Dovecote road. You need to pick up the key at Stanley Seaview Inn which is at 58 Dovcote Road. Horizon Deluxe Apartments is then a further 200 metres up the road and on the right hand side.
