Accommodation is in 5 delightfully individual colonial cottages dating from the 1850's, The Gingerbread Cottage, The Old Bakehouse, The Corner Cottage, The Servant's Quarters and The Apple Tree Cottage, decorated with period furniture and memorabilia. Each cottage has a delightfully cosy gas log fire in the loungeroom.
The cottages all have fully equipped kitchens, and everything you need for a big breakfast. In total, we can accommodate up to 19, however each cottage is for your exclusive use.
At the end of your day enjoy a quiet evening in front of our cosy gas log fires, or dine out at a local restaurant - the choice is yours. Supermarket, bottle shop, The Westbury Pizza House and Andy's Bakery all nearby.

The Gingerbread Cottage was built in the 1880s. It was a two room farm laborer's cottage in the township of Whitemore, 15kn from Westbury when antique dealers Ruth and Colin Clarke decided to purchase the cottage and relocate it to a site adjacent to their antique store in the heart of Westbury.
During the restoration they sourced various salvers of old buildings to construct the kitchen, bathroom/laundry and verandahs in keeping with the original part of the cottage. In 1997 The Westbury Gingerbread Cottage won a Statewide award from the "Keep Australia Beautiful Council" for the Best Cultural/Heritage Preservation.
The Gingerbread Cottage features a queen bedroom, lounge room with a cosy gas log fire, kitchen/dining room, bathroom and laundry.
All rates include homebaked "goodies" daily and provisions for a full breakfast: bacon, eggs, tomatoes, cereals, juice, tea, plunger coffee, breads, spreads and homemade jams. Your breakfast provisions are replenished daily.
Facilities include TV, DVD player, radio/CD, courtyard BBQ, off-street parking and phone with dial-up internet connection. We are a strictly non-smoking establishment.

The Servants Quarters

The Servant's Quarters was the original baker's residence built in the 1850's. It was a two storey brick building, however the upper level was removed in the 1930's.
The cottage later became Colin and Ruth Clarke's residence attached to their antique store. It has now been converted into colonial accommodation with a bathroom, modern kitchen and laundry facilities.
The Servant's Quarters also features a king bedroom and a lounge/dining room with a cosy gas log fire. The king bed can be converted to two single beds, however a minimum of 24 hours advance notice is required if twin accommodation is required. Please advise when booking.
All rates include homebaked "goodies" daily and provisions for a full breakfast: bacon, eggs, tomatoes, cereals, juice, tea, plunger coffee, breads, spreads and homemade jams. Your breakfast provisions are replenished daily.

Colin and Ruth Clarke then established the premises as an antique store and subsequent owners converted it into colonial accommodation in 2003. Newer features added during the renovations included a modern kitchen with laundry facilities and a bathroom with spa bath
The Corner Cottage features a queen bedroom and a twin bedroom, with a large loungeroom and a cosy gas log fire.

The three bedroom Old Bakehouse was the original village bakery, a two storey building from the 1850's which operated as such until as recently as the 1970's.
Colin and Ruth Clarke then established the premises as colonial accommodation in conjunction with their antique store. Whilst retaining many original features, newer additions during the renovations include a modern kitchen, laundry facilities and bathroom with shower and an extra toilet.
The Old Bakehouse features a fully equipped kitchen/dining room, a large loungeroom with a cosy gas log fire, bathroom and laundry downstairs. Bedrooms include a queen bedroom with an extra single bed downstairs. Upstairs is a queen bedroom and a twin bedroom. Please note that the staircase to the upstairs bedrooms is quite narrow and steep and may not be suitable for some guests.
All rates include homebaked "goodies" daily and provisions for a full breakfast: bacon, eggs, tomatoes, cereals, juice, tea, plunger coffee, breads, spreads and homemade jams. Your breakfast provisions are replenished daily.

Reception Information:

Check in time is from 3.00pm. Reception is on the corner of William and King Streets, Westbury. Simply come into reception and pick up the phone. It will dial us automatically and we will normally be with you within a couple of minutes. If arriving after 8pm please phone ahead on the day

This intersection has a Service Station on one corner, a Pub (Hotel) on another and a beautiful stone church on the corners of William Street. Drive over the intersection and continue down William Street, past the Supermarket and Post Office. The Westbury Gingerbread Cottages are just before the next intersection, on the right hand corner. Via Hadspen, Carrick and Hagley on B54: If you choose to travel West from Launceston on the old picturesque highway (B54), continue into the township on the old Meander Valley Road until you reach the town's main intersection. This intersection has a Service Station on one corner, a Pub (Hotel) on another and a beautiful stone church on the opposite corner. Turn left here, into William Street. Continue down William Street, past the Supermarket and Post Office. The Westbury Gingerbread Cottages are just before the next intersection, on the right hand corner.
