Abbotsford Heritage B & B cottage is ideal for couples or singles and only one booking is taken per night, regardless of numbers, so, whether you book bed and breakfast as a single person, one couple or two, you virtually have exclusive use of the cottage. All rooms in the 1880s stone cottage have panoramic views ,with extensive gardens surrounded by dry stone walls, to beaches and Great Oyster Bay, the dramatic Hazards at Freycinet, with Wineglass Bay just beyond.

50 Gordon Street, Swansea 5 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute drive to the historic Swansea township. Swansea is a beautiful, historic township looking across Great Oyster Bay to rugged Freycinet National Park. Swansea's pretty setting and large number of historic homes and buildings give this fishing and holiday destination a unique and distinctive charm. Swansea is located 134 km from Hobart, 133 km from Launceston and 67 km from Campbell Town - an ideal base for touring the beautiful east coast of Tasmania and the historic midland towns on the Heritage Highway.

Abbotsford is a strictly non-smoking property and guests who wish to smoke are requested to do so at an appropriate distance from the dwelling. A butt bin is provided outdoors and, as we strive to maintain our property in a fresh and welcoming condition for all concerned. An additional cleaning charge of $100 may be implemented if required as a result of smoking; detectors are in place.

Room Information:

Wattie's two-bedroom suite includes spacious private bathroom with shower over bath, private sitting room, private keyed front entry and private rear guest courtyard. There is one king size bedroom with king size bed and one double or twin bedroom. Only one booking is taken per night so guests virtually have sole occupancy of the cottage and the property in general. Rates quoted are initially for the first double, as one couple, occupying the king size bedroom with no extra beds in the king size bedroom. The first king/double rate includes a hearty breakfast served by the hosts. Additional adults (max 2 additional adults) occupy a separate single/double or twin bedroom at a charge of $75/adult/night including a hearty breakfast served by the hosts. Unfortunately Abbotsford is not suitable for children. Minimum two night bookings are preferred but, as there are often odd single nights available, please feel free to ring and enquire about one night stays.

Abbotsford is best suited for up to four adults travelling together. The property is unfortunately not suitable for children, wheelchairs and is a seriously non-smoking establishment.

Abbotsford offers generous off-street parking, adjacent the cottage, for two or three vehicles.

Abbotsford is an ideal base from which to explore Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay, Maria Island and the sensational Bay of Fires with quaint historic midland towns nearby. Attractions and activities close to Abbotsford Heritage Bed and Breakfast range from Freycinet National Park at Coles Bay, Kate's Berry Farm, Bark Mill Tavern, Bakery and Museum with vineyards, secluded beaches, fishing, cruises, golfing, kayaking, scenic flights and unforgettable walks through national parks. Excellent restaurants, including the multi-award winning Banc, recently voted the Best Modern Australian Restaurant, and The Ugly Duck Out, Tasmania's Best Vegetarian Restaurant, are nearby together with coffee shops and craft shops plus other amenities.

We are situated on the corner of Gordon Street and the Tasman Highway on the southern side of the Swansea township approx 1.2 km from the Post Office.
