BREAKFAST, an important part of anyone's day, is a substantial continental spread including cereals, yoghurt, juice, local jams, breads and toast and farm fresh eggs laid by hens that you can get to know. Horse riding is also available at Mariton House, both on the property and further afield.

Mariton House is located on the eatern side of St Marys within easy walking distance of the centre of town and only 10km from clean white surf beaches. Mariton House is less than 90 minutes from Launceston, and approximately halfway between St Helens and Bicheno. It is within easy reach of the Bay of Fires.

Things to do:

Horse riding is available for all ages and standards. There is a variety of trail rides through the Tasmanian bush both on the property and further afield. One very special ride is to a secret cave location complete with beautiful man ferns and overhanging sandstone. Rides on the Mariton House property may be a gentle stroll around the paddocks or a creek crossing and steep climb to views of the Fingal Valley with St Patricks towering behind. Rides to the east coast beaches can also be organised.

Mariton House has a number of horses on the property at different times and others "on call" depending on the needs of different riders. Permanent residents include Billy and Miss Molly, both standardbreds, and Alladin, or Laddie, a part Arabian.

Guests are also welcome to bring their horses for a holiday with their owner. Safe paddocks and yard are available but no stables.

Gear and equipment, including helmets, boots for most sizes and a range of saddle types and sizes are provided.

Helmets and suitable boots must be worn and all rides must be escorted by qualified staff.

Local Attractions:

Try the range of local activities including the hard, steep climb to the top of St Patrick's or Paddy's Head for spectacular 360 degree views or the more gentle climb up South Sister where amazing views of the East Coast and inland can be seen. The Evercreech Forest Reserve, near Fingal, with the famous White Knights - tallest white gums in the world and the cascading Mathinna Falls are just some of the sights on the western side of St Marys. On the eastern side there are all the beautiful, clean beaches,the Douglas Aspley National Park, Bicheno with its fairy penguins, the fishing port of St Helens and the famous Bay of Fires all within a short driving distance of Mariton House.

Getting There:

Mariton House is located on the eastern edge of St Marys, on the corner of the Esk Highway and Irishtown Road and is easily seen from the main road.
