Here you can wander through leafy wilderness and very likely meet some local wildlife. St Helens is an ideal base to explore the east coast and is also a short drive north to the Bay of Fires. Here you will find fishing lagoons and beautiful wildflowers. Tasmania's northeast has a mountainous and green hinterland. The coast is known for its long white uncrowded beaches that are wonderful to walk.

Cleanliness Tick Tick Tick Tick

The people that run cockle cove were very helpful and friendly, the place is like a cabin but the furnishings are old fashioned think 1960. There is a boat jetty over the road where charter fishing will pick you up. However the cottages are not in town, we didnt have a car, so it was expensive getting taxi's into town for supplies.
